The ground rules
Last updated 1 November 2026
The short version: Yaaran is a free platform where members post plans and others join them. You're 18+, plans happen only in common spaces and public places, you never ask for or send money, and you follow the code of conduct. Members organise the plans, not Yaaran.
1. What Yaaran is
Yaaran is an online platform where members post plans they want to do and other members ask to join. Yaaran doesn't organise, host, supervise or attend these plans. By using Yaaran you agree to these terms, the code of conduct and the privacy policy.
2. Who can use Yaaran
Account holders must be 18 or older, with a Google account to log in and an Indian mobile number for WhatsApp. One account per person, with your real name and age. Teenagers aged 13–17 may take part only when added by a parent or legal guardian to the parent's account; the parent is responsible for the teen's participation and for deciding which plans they join. Children under 13 may not use Yaaran. Yaaran is for plans and friendship. It is not a dating service, and must not be used for paid companionship.
3. Posting plans
- Plans must be in the society's common spaces or public places. Never inside a flat or hotel room, no overnight stays, and no requests for money.
- Only verified residents may post plans in the society's own spaces; these are open to residents only. Yaaran isn't run by or on behalf of the society's management committee.
- Plans that welcome teens may be posted only by verified residents or ID-verified members and must start between 6 AM and 8 PM.
- Every post is reviewed before it appears. We may refuse or remove any post, with or without notice.
- As the organiser, you're responsible for your post being accurate and for turning up at the place and time you posted.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You let us show it on Yaaran and in our promotion of Yaaran.
4. Joining plans
Organisers decide who joins. If you're accepted, you'll see the meeting spot and the organiser's contact. Use them only for that plan. You take part at your own judgement: some plans, like sports and treks, involve physical effort and some risk.
5. Money
Plans on Yaaran are free. Members must never ask each other for money or pay each other. If a venue charges, each person pays the venue directly. Yaaran isn't responsible for any money exchanged between members.
6. Safety, reports and suspension
Follow the code of conduct and our safety tips. We may suspend or remove any account to protect members, including while we look into a report. A suspended member's upcoming posts are cancelled.
7. Our responsibility
We review posts and act on reports, but we can't check everyone, and we don't guarantee any member's identity, behaviour or the outcome of any plan. As far as the law allows, Yaaran isn't liable for what happens at plans or between members. Yaaran is free, and we don't take any payment from members. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll tell members about important changes before they take effect.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please talk to us first, since most things can be sorted out quickly. Otherwise the courts in Hyderabad have jurisdiction.
10. Contact and grievances
